Mastering the art to Design

Seldom it happens that I don’t procrastinate, and I am pretty sure, this is one of those days and I pretty much hope that I get to live more of ‘These Days’. I often wonder that how do I put myself into a very right and balanced track, where everything is managed, setout beautifully, nothing is clumsy and I get the results that I want from myself. I can feel, that would be one of the most beautiful journeys of my life! But, I wonder how do I carve out that path and draw this beautiful route, I’m sure we all do. Indeed it’s an ART! and our life gives us ample amount of opportunities to learn and master this ART. As a matter of fact, those who are able to master it, we refer to them as “successful” people.

As we are referring to ART here, being one of those, who can feel the pleasure of even the black and white colors of such beautiful pieces and grateful enough to be able to draw some of them, refer to the sketch, I can surely say that creation of a beautiful piece of art doesn’t happen in single and first stroke. One needs to invest his/her focus, time, patience to sculpt the design he/she wants, and the amount of each one of these explicitly mentioned as well as many other implicit factors put into, is directly proportional to the calmness and beauty of the output.

The same applies to our lives. Besides all the stuff that I think I do in my day, I take out some time to get help from my most reliable friends, BOOKS. And it was one of my these BOOK-Friend only, who pushed me to get over this nasty feeling of laziness and summarize it’s thoughts, so that I can keep reminding myself whenever I freeze holding the pencil and just thinking that, “Will I be able to do this?”

This friend is named ‘ Master your day, Design your life ’, and as they say, Pay close attention to those who wants to you to have best in your life, and who can be more selfless than BOOKS :), so I finally made this effort to summarize the best three excerpts to looks back at, to overcome the freeze.

FORMULA FOR LUCK

Being a resident of this planet earth, and to zoom in, being in an arena of competition, I often hear this word “luck”. Hearing and coming across it so many times, made me feel so intrigued to actually know what it means, so as everything else, I googled it, because google>>people, right!? It defined, “Luck is success or failure apparently brought by chance rather than through one’s own actions”. Okay! so here comes the fear, how do we know that, how many chances do we have to achieve success without performing any action. We cannot and more importantly, we should not. So I whole-heartedly thank my friend to give me a reasonable formula :

LUCK = Preparation + Opportunity

Hence, rather than emphasizing on finding out whether we are “lucky” or not, emphasize more on whether we are prepared or not to make the best use of the opportunity that we are blessed with.

SOLUTION ORIENTED MINDSET

When you want to draw something calm and serene, you can not make that possible with a knotty vision, which is applicable to the process of designing of our lives. We cannot carve out the solutions for the problems that we face until we have that SOLUTION ORIENTED mindset as the basis.

Always remember the fact that, “Life is 10% of what Happens to us and 90% of How we React to It” –John Maxwell. The world needs people, who are focused towards providing the solutions. And those who come forward are immensely rewarded. Be a artist who possess “problem solving techniques”.

RITUALS TO CONQUER

This book mentions 6 day to day rituals, out of those six, I felt an spontaneous connection to two of them and which I would like to constantly remind myself, first is, Gratitude and second is, Practicing Silence (another form of meditation).

I have heard a lot from Oprah Winfrey, but my most favorite line from her is, “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” This leads us to know what “Gratitude” can bring to our lives, if we add this in our daily rituals.

As someone who has always always been unable to control and channelize her emotions properly, I think I really needed to know the second ritual. Practicing silence is like putting engine oil in the mind machine, which will reduce any friction and help the mind to run more smoothly and efficiently for the rest of the day. Silence settles the so called ‘dust of thoughts’ hovering around in our minds.

There will always be the time that might freeze our beautiful thoughts, hold us back when we want to design the best, but there shall be some set of advices that always take you out of that rock time, if any of these advices can make to your set, my BOOK-Friend says Welcome in advance.

On that note, I take a leave. Master the ART, Master the design :)
